I Crossed the Line

Alone with the trees by Summerhill Lane

Poetry

I Crossed the Line

I crossed the line

The line set for me

The boundary

The red flag

Why did I do that?

I am not a home wrecker

Even though the home is in ruins

Let them figure it out

Come free or not at all

I crossed the line

Now I have to back track

See me fading to black

Your kisses left me unmoved

Your touch did not thrill

Stopped your hands from roaming

Pushed you back into your cushy seat

Down boy

Go home

My mistake

I crossed the line

Breached the boundary

Come free

There is no chemistry

Just let me be

The end

    1. Darling Joni, thank you so much for liking my art and poem. I am very well and I hope you are too.
I missed my opportunity to comment on your poetry about your dad. It was a very powerful one. Our lives seem to be similar with our fathers. War and alcoholism and abuse. Sending you lots and lots of love β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπŸ’‹

  1. πŸ’œ The tree and the stars, a peaceful scenery. Free, timeless, weightless and so far away.
The poem seems as if you worked something through, a bad experience.
Are you alright? Or did I get it wrong? Anyways, it was powerful, both the image and the words.

  2. This is a different style of poem from what I’ve seen from you, Summerhill. I really like it. It’s cute and has a humorous quality to it. You’re so talented. And the painting.. you among the trees? πŸ˜πŸ€—β€

    1. Thank you Gentleman Dave, yes that is me among the trees😁
The poem is a little different from usually because I am pushing someone away instead of pulling them inπŸ€ͺ.
Sending you love and hugs and kisses β€οΈπŸ€—πŸ’‹
