Chorley Park

Alone in the park at night by Summerhill Lane

Chorley Park

Running down the street

Dog in tow

Music playing in my ears on low

Desperate to arrive and see you there

Park is empty

It is night

you are standing there so tall and bright

A street lamp focuses on your limbs

There are eight or nine of them

I run to you and press my cheek

Tears appear

Oh they do leak and render me a crazy freak

Wrap my arms around your massive trunk

Dog pulls and barks as I impale myself

He is not liking this change of plan

Where he runs and chases a ball or stick

Instead he is stuck with a senseless one

Clinging to a tree for fun

    1. Gentleman Dave, you are right, that is me there with the trees. I thought this painting fit the poem and I have shown it here on WordPress before. I haven’t painted anything yet in 2021. An empty canvas sits and stares.😊
The tree really is just a conduit to the ones I love. Tree hugging you Dave🤗🤗🤗
